DETERMINING THE DIRECTIONS OF TRANSFORMATION OF THE COMPETENCE STRUCTURE BY STAGES OF THE ORGANISATION’S LIFE CYCLE
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the content and determine the directions of transformation of the organisation's competence due to changes in the priority of management tasks at different stages of the life cycle. Methodology of research. The purpose of the article was achieved by using the following research methods: monographic and content analysis, expert assessments, hierarchy analysis, and ranking. Findings. The article suggests determining the need for competences of an organisation on the basis of identification of its position on the life cycle curve. The involvement of practitioners in the expert group on the basis of determining the level of their competence in the chosen field of research allowed substantiating the list of managerial tasks to be solved, which determine the characteristics of the organisation's activities at different stages of its life cycle. It is noted that the priority of management tasks changes depending on the current stage of the organisation's life cycle. The necessity of transformation of the organisation's competence structure is proved, due to the change in the importance of certain competences for solving critical tasks of the current stage of the organisation's functioning. The possibility of implementing various scenarios of the organisation's development is taken into account, which determines the sequence of its life cycle stages, which directly affects the list of necessary competencies to solve current management tasks, requiring an appropriate transformation of the organisational competence structure as a whole. The article proposes a strategy for further activities of an organisation, depending on the chosen scenario of its development, which involves the use of competences of various competence components (synergistic, strategic, key, functional, basic), due to their critical importance for solving urgent tasks of each stage of the life cycle. Practical value. Implementation of the proposed methodological approach to determining the directions of transformation of the organisation's competence structure will allow prolonging its life by successfully overcoming bifurcation points, preventing the stage of decline due to timely renewal of the organisation or its painless passing.
